Detailed design and construction of a new waterfront promenade

At Amain Engineering Development Limited, we are committed to enhancing Hong Kong’s urban infrastructure and public spaces through high-quality capital works. One of our landmark contributions to the city’s waterfront revitalization efforts was the successful delivery of the Quick Win Promenade at the East Coast Park Precinct, part of Contract No. HY/2009/19 – Central-Wan Chai Bypass Tunnel (North Point Section) and Island Eastern Corridor Link, for the Highways Department.

This project reflects our ability to integrate technical precision with urban placemaking, delivering public space enhancements that promote recreation, connectivity, and community well-being.

Creating Community Space Along the Shoreline

As part of the government’s “Quick Win” initiative for the early opening of harbourfront areas, this project aimed to transform a segment of reclaimed shoreline in North Point into a vibrant waterfront promenade, offering public leisure space ahead of the final infrastructure completion for the Central-Wan Chai Bypass.

Working closely with the Highways Department, Amain Engineering Development Limited delivered both the design and construction of the promenade within a compact timeline of seven months.

Key Scope of Works:

✔️ Detailed Design Coordination

Our in-house and partner project teams developed detailed architectural, civil, and M&E
designs tailored to both the site constraints and community expectations.

✔️ Construction of Promenade Walkway

We built a publicly accessible promenade path with high-quality surfacing, edge
treatments, safety railings, and barrier-free access features.

✔️ Landscape and Hardscape Features

Strategic landscape planting and softscape installation added greening and visual appeal.

✔️ Lighting, Signage & Urban Furniture

We installed low-glare, energy-efficient LED lighting, as well as informational signage
and functional street furniture to enhance usability during both day and night.
