Upgrading for a Modern Academic Vision

Lam Tai Fai College commissioned this key project to expand its campus capacity and improve its educational facilities in line with its forward-looking mission to integrate academics, sports, the arts, and technology. 

The project called for both structural additions and internal enhancements, seamlessly integrated into the existing architecture without disrupting daily school operations. 

Core Scope of Works:

1. Construction of Three Additional Floors (2/F to 4/F)

The foundation of this A&A project was the vertical extension of the existing New Annex. Amain Engineering delivered:
 
  • build-up of floorsfrom2 to 4 using composite steel slab 
  • Floorplate designs tailored to their intended use:
  • 4/F: Dining Hall, 
  • 3/F: Exhibition Area, computer, 
  • 2/F: New Library

Through precise planning and coordination, we ensured construction met the required educational functional loads, building codes, and integration standards. 

2. Internal Fitting-Out Works

We transformed raw shell spaces into student-ready environments, with complete interior finishes and fixtures suited to each room’s purpose included Acoustic finishes for the library and exhibition spaceBuilt-in cabinetry, built seating, partitions, and exhibition wallsall finishes matching the school’s design identity 

3. Associated Building Services Installations

Amain was responsible for carrying out all associated Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) building services for the new floors

4.  Fast-Track Delivery Timeline

With a critical need for the expanded facility to be operational within the same academic year, Amain: 

  • Usedpre-fabelements and efficient sequencing to shorten construction cycle 
  • Conducted parallel interior and building services works to reduce handover time
