Project Scope:

Scope: Construction of six-story 30-classroom primary school at Anderson Road. This project involves the design and utilization of concrete structure MIC modules for assembling and construction of classrooms and student toilets.

Modular of MiC - Hybrid construction method

Adopting MiC in construction project is a getting popular in Hong Kong, which aims to achieve a better quality and shorten the overall construction time. Integration of MiC with in-situ structural element, reduce huge amount of formwork and propping.

Enhancement with BIM

To enhance the effectiveness of MiC, the project team will coordinate with cross discipline from Architecture, Structural, E/M, Construction Management and MiC Fabricator’s information in BIM Modelling, to adjust the design and setting out to optimize the module design. With BIM, all teams in a project use the same information and work with a single model which eliminates the hassle and confusion caused by different file versions. BIM can capture every detail of a project with 3D visualization, augment reality and simulations gives client a clear perspective of the project.

DfMA prefabricated BS installation

The DfMA AHU/pump set shall be fully assembled with all required parts the entire assembly shall be mounted on a skid base for ease in transportation and hoisting.  

Besides the mechanical components of AHU, the electrical system such as Motor Control Panel (MCP) and Direct Digital Controller (DDC) shall be housed in the Power Supply Cabinet and Low voltage cabinet respectively in DfMA AHU set. 

The entire DfMA AHU unit shall be pre-tested in the off-site factory according to the testing and commissioning procedures issued by ASD. After the installation of unit is installed properly in the construction site, further testing and commissioning is required to test for the whole air side system and water side system in the MVAC discipline.
